The elections are expected to cover 21 urban local bodies across the state, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).

According to preliminary reports, the counting of votes may take place four to five days after polling. However, the proposed schedule is yet to be officially confirmed by the Tripura State Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the State Election Commission has reportedly intensified preparations to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful, fair and orderly manner.

Technical preparations, including the first-level checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), have reportedly been completed.

The EVMs are being stored at secure locations under the supervision of the respective district election authorities as preparations continue for the upcoming civic polls.
