Tripura exports another consignment of organic Kew pineapple & turmeric

Tripura exports another consignment of organic Kew pineapple & turmeric today.

Again a consignment of 1000 kilograms Kew variety pineapples at Rs. 14 per piece and 1,800 kilograms of organic turmeric at Rs. 19 per kilogram has been sent to Kolkata by Sealdah Express today.

The purchaser is ‘Big Basket’ and the deal has been executed with the help of CBBO SIMFED (Sikkim State Cooperative Supply Marketing Federation Ltd), Gangtok, Sikkim, an organic retail agency working with the state government that has been coordinating with the ‘Organic Farmer’s Organisation’ in Unakoti district in collaboration with Unakoti Organic Producer Group Ltd. Organic Farmer’s Organisation consists of more than 512 farmers from the entire district.

Last week also 1000 kilograms of pineapples were exported to Kolkata and in last month the Organic Farmer’s Organisation successfully delivered 5,000 kilograms of organic turmeric.

The whole process is being done under MOVCDNER Phase-II of Organic Farming.
