The state government has not yet taken any final decision to build a five-star hotel in the old Raj Bhavan. The whole matter is at the discussion stage.”
Recently, Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman accused the state government of deciding to build a five-star hotel in the old Raj Bhavan.
State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury made this clear on Friday, dismissing Pradyot Kishore’s allegations.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury did not hesitate to take a dig at Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman’s complaint without naming him. “There are many such things from the royal era where business is going on. Wedding hall have been built. Business is going on there. I do not want to hurt anyone’s sentiments.” With this comment, the state’s tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury took a dig at Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman without naming him.

In the wake of Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman’s recent complaint, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury further said today, “Currently, the old Raj Bhavan is the property of the government. The government can take any kind of decision on government property.
There is no mention in the agreement with the government that the state government cannot get any government project or project done by anyone in the place of this old Raj Bhavan.”
