Agartala, June 8: West Agartala Police Station has once again demonstrated its efficiency in recovering stolen property and returning it to its rightful owners. On Sunday, recovered gold ornaments and mobile phones were handed over to their owners following a court order.
Addressing the media, West District Superintendent of Police (SP) Namit Pathak and Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rana Chatterjee said that around 180 grams of gold ornaments, recovered in connection with two separate theft cases, were returned to the owners. The recovered ornaments are estimated to be worth approximately ₹35 lakh in the market.
In addition to the gold ornaments, police also handed over 25 recovered mobile phones to their respective owners.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and satisfaction over the prompt action taken by the police in tracing and recovering the stolen items.
According to police officials, the recovered articles were linked to two theft cases registered on April 23 and May 9. During the investigation, West Agartala Police arrested a total of 10 accused persons in connection with the two cases.
Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the recovery of stolen property whenever possible.
