Keeping in mind significance of physical fitness, yoga & meditation in today’s busy life, a mega event of international conference titled “ADVANCE CONCEPTS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS SCIENCES: TRANSFORMING PERFORMANCE, WELLNESS & SOCIETY (ACPESS)” is going to be organized by the Physical Education Department of Government Degree College Kamalpur in collaboration with Department of Physical Education, Tripura University (a Central University) and National Association of Physical Education & Sports Science (NAPESS) from 25th to 27th June 2024 under the sponsorship of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India and Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Tripura.
This is perhaps the first occasion when an International Conference at College level of this standard is going to happen in Tripura. Due to infrastructural constraint at Kamalpur in organising a Conference of this level, the venue of the Conference has to be shifted to Tripura University Campus at Suryamaninagar, Agartala.
The Chairperson of the 3-Day International Conference is Dr. Abhijit Sarkar, Principal, Government Degree College, Kamalpur and the Organising Secretary is Dr. Subal Chandra Das, HOD, Physical Education, Government Degree College, Kamalpur. Members of various sub-committees are working hard to make the conference a grand success. The Organising team looks forward to these three days journey of learning which will provide a significant insight in enlightening the participants on its theme.
The Conference aims to connect various aspects of Physical Education, health and its vivid relation to wellness with an objective to create an apostle of sports & wellness enthusiasts across the globe. This Conference will be a historic event creating a distinct hallmark in its fields within the State with esteemed & eminent experts, researchers and thought leaders across countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Nepal and Sri Lanka as well as across states of India participating in the event to converge and share their expertise and collectively illuminate and advance the frontiers knowledge of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. About sixty to seventy national & international delegates (invited speakers, special invitee & Chairperson) from different states of India and various corners of the world will be present in this conference.
Keynote speech is going to be delivered by Professor Oleksandr Krasilshchikov, Faculty of Sports Science & Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam (Malaysia). Altogether two hundred & fifty delegates will contribute and exchange their views on advanced sports topics touching almost every academic branch. The conference will be enriched by lectures from twenty-two invited speakers and presentation of around two hundred papers during these three days.
An abstract book will be unveiled at the first day and later on, edited book & article publication in UGC care listed journal will follow for proper dissemination of knowledge, acquired from this gala event. All these three days, there will be scientific sessions, technical and plenary sessions in different parts of Tripura University campus.
These will serve as a unique platform in providing an insight and act as a beacon in guiding us towards the future where physical activity, sports and science converge to enhance human potential, promoting well-being of society.
