Correspondent Pecharthal, March 10, 2026: A mega joining programme was organized on Tuesday at Polling Booth No. 40 in Kalagang under the Khedachhara sector of Pecharthal Assembly constituency.
The programme was held under the leadership of Tripura Government Minister and MLA of Pecharthal Assembly constituency, Santana Chakma.
During the event, a total of 90 members from 30 families, who were previously associated with the Tipra Motha Party and the CPI(M), joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The new members expressed their support for the BJP and reaffirmed their commitment to the path of development, stability and progress.
Notably, among those who joined the BJP were a former chairman of CPI(M) and a member of the Tipra Motha Party, which added significance to the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, party leaders stated that members of the tribal community have shown their faith in the politics of development. They also expressed confidence in the vision of building a strong, self-reliant and respected India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Leaders present at the programme described the joining not merely as political support, but as a reflection of growing trust and a decisive step towards progress and development in the region.
