A smuggler arrested with gold biscuits worth Rs 96 lakh. This shocking incident took place at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport.
The smuggler had planned to reach Kolkata from Agartala at noon on June 29.
18 gold biscuits were seized from him during the security check. CISF jawans arrested him immediately and started interrogating him.
However, there were inconsistencies in his speech. He was later arrested.
A CISF official said that the trafficker’s name is Biplab Chowdhury. He has confessed to smuggling gold.
However, what is the whole scenario and who else from Tripura are involved in it, those issues will be investigated further.
