A group of terminated 10,323 teachers staged a road blockade in Agartala from Orient Chowmuhani to Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Thursday urging the government of giving back their jobs or assurance of jobs.
It is to be noted that they were in an indefinite hunger strike for the past 43 days. Speaking to reporters, one of the sacked teachers said that they have organized a road blockade after 43 days of indefinite hunger strike.
The terminated teacher added that the Education department has terminated all the 10,323 teachers unlawfully. He added, “We are being deprived of getting salaries for 33 months. We are seeking government’s attention, request the administrative officials to come here and assure us that positive initiative to be taken”.
