The National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted approval for Agartala Government Medical College to increase its MBBS intake capacity from 100 to 150 seats. This is a significant accomplishment, as it will provide more opportunities for aspiring medical students from our state to pursue their dream of becoming a doctor.
The National Medical Council (NMC) has increased the number of seats in the MBBS Under Graduate Course at Agartala Government Medical College by 50 in line with the continuous efforts of the State Government to promote medical education in the State.
The number of seats increased from 100 to 150. It will be effective from the current academic year. This increase in the number of seats is a significant event in our state.
As a result, the students of the state will fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors, and will also play a supportive role in the initiatives of the state government to eliminate the shortage of doctors in the state. Under the direction of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the Department of Health and Family Welfare is working responsibly to provide quality medical services to the people of the state.
The state government has also consistently continued the process of recruiting doctors including super specialists. Besides, the state government is continuing its efforts to increase the opportunities for medical studies including MBBS, Post Graduate (PG).
