Assam CM reviews flood situation, directs officials to oversee rehabilitation in worst-hit districts
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday reviewed the prevailing flood situation in the state and assessed ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures at a high-level meeting held at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati.
The meeting, attended by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Keshab Mahanta and senior officials from various departments, focused on the flood situation in the worst-affected districts of Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaideo and Golaghat.
The Chief Minister reviewed the number of people affected, damage to embankments, bridges and roads, and the progress of rescue and relief operations.
