Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep concern on Monday over allegations that bricks and stones were thrown at former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s convoy in Bamutia on Sunday. Terming the incident “undesirable in any way,” the Chief Minister stated that he personally inquired into the details of Manik Sarkar’s visit to the area.

According to Dr. Saha, the police department confirmed that a double escort had been arranged to ensure the former Chief Minister’s security during his visit. Commending the law enforcement response, the Chief Minister noted that the police performed their duties effectively.

Addressing the crowd that had gathered at the location, Dr. Saha mentioned that various reports regarding their identity and motives have surfaced.

“Some say there were people associated with 10,323, while others say individuals gathered due to matters related to Rose Valley,” the Chief Minister noted.

However, Dr. Saha firmly clarified that regardless of the grievances or reasons behind the gathering, such behavior and violent actions are completely unacceptable.
