Bangladesh sends 1,100kg of mangoes to West Bengal, Tripura

Agartala/Kolkata, July 2: As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, the Government of Bangladesh has sent 1,100 kilograms of premium mangoes to the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura. The mangoes will be distributed among senior government officials, diplomats, and other dignitaries.

The consignments entered India on Tuesday through the Benapole Land Port in Jessore and the Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria. The shipments were officially handed over to representatives of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.

Of the total consignment, 600kg of mangoes packed in 120 cartons (5kg each) was sent to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, while 500kg packed in 100 cartons was delivered to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

The gift includes Bangladesh’s renowned Haribhanga and Amrapali varieties, known for their taste and quality.

According to officials, 100kg of the mangoes has been earmarked for Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha. Another 100kg has been allocated for Suvendu Adhikari, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
