Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the new building of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Old Age Home in Narsingarh.
The Chief Minister said, the Prime Minister has a special compassion towards the Northeastern states of India.
It is because of the sincere efforts of the Prime Minister that development in Tripura has sped up. The state-grown fruits such as Jackfruits, Scented lemons, Pineapples etc., are now being exported abroad. As a result, the farmers are economically getting benefitted.
He said, this new building of Old Age Home has been built with modem earthquake resistant Green Technology. He said, the present state government is working with the mantra- Niyam, Niti and Nishtha.
The state government is not only providing houses to poor families but also is providing 2 thousand rupees to the Antyodaya families to perform last rites on the death of their relatives.
Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma said, it is the state government’s duty to work for the welfare of the senior citizens. With the sincere efforts of the state government, the poor and old persons are able to avail free health treatments under Ayushman Bharat.
