Agartala, March 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has placed Arup Dhar, the District President of its youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Unakoti district, under temporary suspension following allegations of unethical conduct.
According to a notice issued by BJP State General Secretary Amit Rakshit, the action was taken on charges of violating party discipline and allegedly tarnishing the party’s image.
The directive stated that allegations have surfaced accusing the BJYM leader of involvement in unethical activities that are considered detrimental to the reputation of the party. In view of the seriousness of the allegations, the party has decided to place him under temporary suspension.
The notice further mentioned that the suspension will remain in effect until a written explanation is received from the accused leader. Arup Dhar has been directed to submit his written explanation to the State Party Headquarters in Agartala by March 18.
The party also stated that if the explanation is not submitted within the stipulated time, appropriate action will be taken against him in accordance with the party’s constitution.
