In series of ‘Special Operations’ by BSF Tripura being conducting to neutralize the ill designs of trans-border Smugglers on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border, on intervening night of 20/21 Oct 2021, BSF troops apprehended 01 Suspect, rescued 12 Cattle and seized assorted Contraband items having combined value of Rs. 71,63,924/- in different operations.

On 20th Oct 2021, based on specific intelligence input, joint Operation party comprising of BSF troops of Border Out Post Kalsimura, Ex- 150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar with officials of Customs Sonamura intercepted one Swift Dzire VXI Car (TR 07 D 0236) plying on Agartala to Kamalnagar via Boxanagar Road, carrying contraband consignment comprising of 04 Cartoons containing assorted Mobile Smartphones valued Rs. 34,77,854/- and also apprehended vehicle driver namely Fariz Miah S/o Jetu Miah R/o Vill- Adampur, PO- Kalsimura, PS- Kalamchoura, Distt- Sepahijala, Tripura.

The above apprehended person along with the seized contrabands was handed over to Customs- Sabroom, Sub Div- Sabroom, Distt: South Tripura on the spot.

In another Operation, on 20th Oct 2021, acting on a specific intelligence input regarding stocking of contraband items in a shop belonging to one Indian national namely Sh. Ranjan Saha S/o Niranjan Saha at Boxanagar, BSF troops of Border Out Post Boxanagar, Ex- 150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar carried joint search Ops with police party of PS- Kalamchoura. During thorough search, party recovered 1800 Nos Sarees worth Rs. 36,00,000/-.

The seized items were being handed over to PS- Kalamchoura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala for further course of action.

It is also worth mentioning here that vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the Country in the Tripura State are considerably seizing other contraband items on daily basis from bordering area of the state.
