BSF on specific information, carried out an operation and apprehended a Bangladeshi national in the intervening nights of 17th & 18th October in BOP Rangna under North Tripura district , while he was trying to enter into Indian territory by negotiating the border fence.
The apprehended person is a resident of the Chattogram District of Bangladesh. This was stated in a press statement issued by BSF Tripura Headquarters today.
The statement said that, another Bangladeshi national (Female) was apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Kaiyadeppa under District Sepahijala, Tripura, while she was trying to illegally enter Indian territory by negotiating the border fence.
The apprehended person is a resident of the Kishoreganj District of Bangladesh. In a separate operation BSF troops deployed on the border \foiled various attempts of trans-border smuggling , seized Bangladeshi currency 1,62,900/- Taka & other contrabands worth Rs. 11,10,300/- yesterday.
BSF has stepped up domination and operation along the border in Tripura to prevent infiltration and trans-border crime.
