On 06th March 2019, on specific information, in a joint operation by BSF troops deployed at Srimantapur Border Out post and Police party of PS Sonamura, raided the house of one Jaffar Hossain (20 Years), S/O – Younis Miya, R/O – Sahapur, PS Sonamura, District – Sepahijala. While the search of the house was in progress, Jaffar Hossain tried to escape, but he was immediately apprehended by the party. On frisking of the apprehended person, 1,428 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 7,14,000/- recovered from his possession.

During preliminary questioning the apprehended person confessed his involvement in illegal trade. The suspect along with the seized Yaba Tablets was handed over to PS Sonamura and FIR lodged against the individual under NDPS Act.
In an another incident of similar nature, on 06th March 2019, BSF troops deployed at Dipak Border Out Post received a specific information and conducted a special operation.

The agile BSF troops observed 02 miscreants riding on 02 separate motorbikes approaching towards Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence. BSF troops on duty challenged them but they did not pay any heed and continued advancing towards border fence.

On this, BSF party fired one round of Pump Action Gun to deter the movement of motorcyclists.

Thereafter, miscreants fled away from the area. During search of the area, BSF troops recovered 1,600 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 8,00,000/- and 02 kgs Ganja worth Rs. 10,000/- from the spot. The FIR of the incident was lodged with PS Sonamura under NDPS Act and seized contrabands handed over to the Police.
