The smuggling of Yaba Tablets in Tripura State is a matter of great concern for all law enforcing agencies working in the State.

BSF has been launching special drive against the smuggling of Narcotics substances and drug racketeers in the State of Tripura, which yielded desired results in form of regular achievements. On 03rd June 2019, acting on specific input about smuggling of Yaba Tablets, BSF troops deployed at Dipak Border Out Post under PS Sonamura, District Sepahijala carried out special search operation in the bordering areas. During the course of operation, troops apprehended one Indian National namely Sabujer Rahaman (26 years), S/O Amanalla, R/O Village Tarapokur ward No.02, PO Dhanpur, PS Sonamura, District Sepahijala, Tripura along with 940 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 4,70,000/-. Apprehended smuggler along with seized items were handed over to PS Sonamura.

During the questioning hour, the suspect revealed that he received the consignment of Yaba from one Indian smuggler namely Dulal Mia OF Village Tarapokur, PS Sonamura, Distt Sephahijala, which was to be delivered to Bangladesh drug smuggler namely Kamal Mia, S/O Latif Kabiraj of village Dolakia, PS Commilla Sadar Dakshin, Distt Commilla, Bangladesh. Dulal Mia is a notorious smuggler who has been distributing small packets of Yaba containing 500 to 1000 Yaba Tablets in each packets to his trusted couriers in the area of Dhanpur, N C Nagar and Tarapokur for further smuggling to Bangladesh.

It is worth mentioning here that, in addition to the narcotics drugs items, BSF have also been seizing Cattle, Motor Cycles, Cosmetics items, Sarees and other contraband items on daily basis.
