Union   Minister  for Women and Child Welfare Annapurna Devi today interacted with the members of the Mahila Morcha and the women corporators of Agartala Municipal Corporation at the BJP state office . The BJP’s Mahila Morcha felicitated the Union Minister . Later, while speaking , Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Annapurna Devi said that Tripura is now a prosperous state. She called upon the leaders of the Mahila Morcha to take the role of taking the central people -oriented projects to the people . She also called upon the Mahila Morcha members and women public representatives to take effective steps to prevent child marriage and create a drug- free state . The Union Minister said that in the last 12 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the states of the North – East at least fifty times . The Central Government is working for the development of the states of the North- East . She called upon the members of the Mahila Morcha to come forward for the development of Anganwadi centers and the successful implementation of nutrition programs . She expressed hope that Tripura will become a model state if everyone comes forward to implement the projects of the central and state governments .
