CM Inaugurates PNG based firing system of tea processing unit at Durgabari

The state government is sincere and responsible for the welfare of the workers working in the tea gardens of the state.

The government has launched the Chief Minister’s Tea Workers Welfare Project for this purpose.

Special attention should be given to ensure that all workers of tea garden can access the benefits of this project.

Chief Minister Professor Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the gas-based tea processing project run by TTVC at Durgabari Tea Garden on Sunday afternoon.

He said that the government is trying its best to implement all projects of the centre and state government for the betterment of tea workers.
Dying tea gardens of the state have started reviving since 2018.

CM said that the introduction of this gas-based system would alleviate a lot of the problems that occur due to use of coal for processing tea.
He said many small tea gardens are created under the MNREGA project. which is around 1200 acres.

CM urged all concerned people to come forward for the expansion and promotion of the tea industry in the state.

The Chief Minister said Tripura is currently ranked fifth in the country in terms of tea production.

The government has plans to export tea to neighboring Bangladesh as well as create more employment opportunities in the tea industry.
Government has plans to build a tea auction center in the future.
