CM Professor Dr Manik Saha attended a high priority review meeting at the secretariat on Saturday June 18 2022.
The meeting was regarding the problems created across the state due to intense rainfall.
Various issues were discussed in detail during the meeting, which include disconnection of Assam-Agartala national highway, last update of progress of repairing work of landslide devastated railway line and availability of necessary commodities in state.
Besides, arrangement of alternative road route of Agartala-Kolkata via Bangladesh and water logged situation of Agartala were also discussed in the meeting.
Recently, the road network of Tripura has been disconnected due to a landslide at Khasi Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya.
CM Saha already informed the relevant central ministers about these situations by writing letters. He is also maintaining regular communication by telephone so that fast repair of road can be done.
A senior official of transport department was sent to the area affected by landslide in Meghalaya to observe the overall situation.
In today’s meeting, special attention is given to quick relief and rescue of people affected by the water logged situation in various areas of Tripura including Agartala occurred due to heavy rainfall over past two days.
Chief minister instructed officials to arrange necessary items including medicines in relief camps.
Discussion regarding quick maintenance of the affected areas and helping affected people were also made in the meeting.
