Agartala, November 4: The Lawyer Cell of the Pradesh Congress on Monday appeared before the State Human Rights Commission with an 11-point demand. The leaders of the cell expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of human rights violations in the state.
They alleged that since the BJP government came to power in 2018, numerous cases of human rights violations have taken place, while the State Human Rights Commission has completely failed to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.
The Pradesh Congress urged the Commission to conduct an impartial investigation into all such incidents, ensure strict punishment for the culprits, and take necessary steps to safeguard human rights across the state.
