Tripura, June 4:
Covid-19 has made a reappearance in Tripura, with one fresh case detected in South Tripura’s Sabroom area.
Dr. Shailendra Tripura, Medical Officer In-Charge at Kalacherra Primary Health Centre (PHC), confirmed the case on Tuesday. The patient, identified as Dipak Chotia — an ONGC employee from Assam — tested positive through a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) after presenting symptoms at the PHC. He has since been placed in isolation.
Authorities have begun tracing individuals who came in contact with the patient, and health officials are closely monitoring the situation.
This development comes amid rising Covid-19 cases in other parts of the country. In response, Tripura’s Health Department has heightened surveillance and monitoring of symptomatic individuals to prevent potential spread.
