Agartala, June 26: CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Wednesday strongly criticized the police administration for its inaction following the recent attack on Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman’s official residence. Addressing the media, Chowdhury said, “Enough is enough. Too much has happened. The Chief Minister should seriously reflect on this situation.”
He alleged that in recent times, those who speak out against the ruling party are being silenced through intimidation and violence. “Not only are people being threatened, but they are also being subjected to physical assaults and mental harassment. This is a dangerous sign for democracy,” Chowdhury remarked.
The CPIM leader accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order and condemned what he termed as “political terrorism”. He demanded an immediate end to such attacks and called for the restoration of democratic rights and proper law enforcement in the state.
