Udaipur, June 25: For the past three months, residents of Amtali in Udaipur’s Khilpara Gram Panchayat area have been facing an acute water crisis. Despite repeatedly informing the local public representatives about the issue, no concrete action has been taken to resolve the problem.
According to the residents, the vehicle meant for supplying drinking water to the area has become unusable, further worsening the situation. In protest villagers staged a road blockade in the Amtali area on Wednesday, demanding a regular and reliable water supply.
Upon receiving information about the agitation, the Upa Pradhan of the area rushed to the spot and assured the protesters that steps would be taken immediately to restore regular water supply. Following the assurance, the road blockade was lifted.
Locals, however, expressed hope that the administration would now act promptly to resolve the crisis that has plagued them for months.
