Deputy CM inaugurates Jirania RD Division office

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of Gram Swaraj Mission is being taken to rural areas. Good governance is being catered to every village, enunciated Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma after inaugurating Jirania RD Division office today. He said, the RD department is being further expanded to escalate development in rural areas as RD department is the nodal department for rural development.

He said, earlier, there used to be 4 Circle offices in RD department. 4 more Circle offices have been increased presently. Plans have been taken to increase Sub-division offices from 23 to 42 offices. Number of engineers has been increased in the department. Emphasizing upon including more of mothers and sisters in the rural development, he said, earlier, the number of Self-Help Groups was less which has now increased in every block. Deputy Chief Minister said, government believes in actions rather than in words Government believes in actually implementing rather than simply saying.

The government is determined improve the infrastructure of the department. He informed, the state now has its own world-class Science City. The quality of living of the tribals has improved. Already three indigenous persons have been awarded with Padmashri.

Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty said. Tripura has drastically changed in these few years. Tripura is now at the pinnacle of development in every sector such as Education, Health and Tourism. Government is decentralizing every department so that the administration reaches to the general people.

Welcome speech was delivered by Chief Executive Engineer of RD department Pradip Debbarma. Other dignitaries present in the programme were Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb, Chairperson of Panchayat Samiti of Jirania block Manju Das, Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath, Jirania BAC Chairman Subhamani Debbarma, Jirania BDO Paritosh Debharma and social activist Gouranga Bhowmik.

The dignitaries handed over sports items to 19 clubs of different ADC villages and Gram Panchayats of Jirania block. later, they visited the new RD Division office building.
