Health officials believe the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo began several weeks ago, with the death toll rising to 118.
WHO has declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
Around 300 suspected cases have been reported in Ituri and North Kivu provinces.
In neighbouring Uganda, one death and one suspected case have also been reported, with officials warning that numbers may rise as surveillance expands.
