The present government of the state is giving priority to the development of women.
Various initiatives have been taken to ensure that not a single girl in the state is deprived of education.
Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said this while inaugurating the program of distribution of bicycles among the girls of various schools in Sonamura sub-district at the Melaghar Town Hall on the initiative of the School Education Department on Wednesday.
He said, “the slogan of the current Tripura government is Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. Keeping this slogan in mind, the state government has decided that bicycles will be given to the girl students of class 9 of the state irrespective of caste, religion, caste”.
According to that decision, bicycles are being distributed among the students.
He added that in 2018-19, 28 thousand 6 students and in 2019-20 26 thousand 530 students were given bicycles. This year 2020-21 and 2021-22 are being given bicycles to female students simultaneously.
A total of 44,673 bicycles are being distributed across the state. 17 crore 10 lakh rupees have been spent in this regard. The education minister said that during the previous government, bicycles were not given to all the school girls.
The present state government is distributing these bicycles among the girl students of all sections.
He added that the present government of the state has laid special emphasis on the promotion of quality education.
