On the occasion of 75 anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram College, an exhibition was organized today at the Old Library of the college Portraits of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, Maharani Kanchan Prabha Devi, state’s indigenous traditional attires and different items made by the students of the college were displayed in the exhibition.

After inaugurating the exhibition, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said, the college is associated with the memory of Maharaja Bir Bikram.

His dream of education for women, afforestation and promotion of culture in the state has now gone far ahead The Mayor said, a good number of successful students who have passed out from the college are now earning good name in the country as well as abroad. The students have depicted past, present and future in the exhibition.

He also informed that the area around the college will be developed at the cost of 30 crore rupees under Agartala Smart City Scheme. Educationist Mihir Deb, AMC Corporator Sukhamoy Saha and Director of Higher Education department Nripendra Chandra Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Welcome speech was delivered by Principal In-charge of the college Ashish Mitra.
