Four-Day Power & Water Outage Triggers Road Blockade in Gournagar
KAILASHAHAR — Aggrieved by a four-day electricity outage and a severe drinking water shortage, local residents staged a road blockade near the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Gournagar Gram Panchayat on Monday morning.
- Core Grievance: Protestors reported that the prolonged power cut directly disrupted the local drinking water supply. Despite multiple complaints to the concerned departments, no remedial action was taken.
- Lack of Official Response: While officers from the Kailashahar Police Station responded to the scene, officials from the Power Department and Drinking Water Department failed to appear, further escalating public frustration.
- Impact: The blockade stranded numerous vehicles on both sides of the road, causing severe traffic jams and delaying students traveling to Kendriya Vidyalaya.
The residents are demanding immediate intervention from authorities to restore power and drinking water services.
