SEPAHIJALA — In a major safety initiative, the Education Department has issued strict guidelines prohibiting government and private school students across Sipahijala district from commuting to school using two-wheelers, including motorcycles and scooters.
- Scope of the Ban: Issued under the direction of the District Education Officer, the mandate applies to 669 public and private schools, affecting approximately 80,000 students across the district.
- The directive aims to curb underage driving, minimize road accident risks, and prevent traffic law violations caused by minor students riding their parents’ vehicles.
- School authorities have been directed to strictly enforce compliance within school premises. Additionally, the department has urged parents to cooperate by ensuring their minor children do not drive vehicles to school.
