Gandhigram Primary Health Centre awarded Kayakalp Award

The Gandhigram Primary Health Centre of West Tripura district has been awarded the Kayakalp Award This primary health Centre is ranked second in the state by scoring 97.2 percent.

This is the second time this health Centre has received the Kayakalp Award. It may be noted that Gandhigram Primary Health Centre was also awarded the Kayakalp Award in the financial year 2019-20. Since 2015, the Ministry of Health of the Government of India has launched the Kayakalp scheme.

The Ministry of Health has launched this award with the aim of promoting behavioural change and promoting awareness and promotion of hygiene practices, including improving the quality of services and transparency of health centres, bio-control, bio-treatment, waste management.

This year 37 Health and Wellness Centres, 3 Community Health Centres, 1 District Hospital, 5 Urban Primary Health Centres and 12 Primary Health Centres of West Tripura district have received Kayakalp Award. This news was informed in a press release from Tripura branch of National Health Mission
