Chief Minister Manik Saha announced a major decision for the female students of Tripura on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

He said that all female students could access free education in all government institutions.

Sisters of all levels of society put rakhi in the hand of CM Manik Saha on Thursday during the Raksha Bandhan festival.

The Chief Minister said that the Tripura government is always concerned about ensuring the safety of women and girls.

He declared various special decisions for sisters, which include free education for all girls studying in the general degree colleges and government schools and institutions.

He said that a security helpline number has been introduced to ensure safety of women in Tripura.

Any woman can contact 1091 and highlight their concern regarding the safety and security.

Further, he said that the number of CCTV cameras would be increased.
Besides, number plate recognition cameras would be installed.
