The government is working on priority to double the income of farmers. The central government has taken various schemes for the welfare of farmers.
The opportunities of all these projects are being extended to the farmers in the state.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Pranjit Singha Ray said this while inaugurating the newly built 1,000 metric ton capacity rice warehouse in Bazar Colony at Kalyanpur Block on Wednesday.
This rice warehouse has been constructed with the funds of the Rural Infrastructure Development Scheme, which cost 1 crore 25 lakh rupees.
In the inauguration ceremony, the Agriculture Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a multi-faceted plan for the welfare of farmers. The farmers of the state are benefiting from the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the PM Kishan scheme”.
He added that the state government is also procuring paddy from farmers at subsidized rates.
The Minister further said that the aim of all these programs is to increase the income of the farmers.
He said that the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is helping farmers in implementing the development program.
