Grandmaster, Pragyat Prasun, son of Tripura secured the fourth position in the World Yoga Cup 2022 in Delhi-NCR, India.
The Universal Yoga Sports Federation (UYSF) organized the competition on June 26 and 27, 2022.
Pragyat has competed in the Yoga World Cup 2022 in the junior category (11-12 years) with competitors from England and Malaysia as well as different parts of the country.
However, Pragyat felt sick due to intense heat and temperature in Delhi NCR, and managed to earn laurels for Tripura in fourth position.
He completed under the banner of Tripura Yogasana Sports Association (TRYSA) and Tripura State Yoga Institute (TSYI).
Coach Shambhu Chakraborty supervised Grandmaster Pragyat in the competition.
Pragyat has already set five world records, one Asian record and two national records.
He was titled ‘Grand Master’ for his tortoise pose (Kurmasana)on June 23, 2021
He started practicing yoga at the age of seven to get rid of respiratory problems.
The 11-year old little grandmaster is studying in sixth standard in Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Agartala.
He is trained in the NSRCC under the guidance and supervision of his coach, Shambhu Chakraborty, an inspiration to many people.
Pragyat Prasun and his parents Pradeep Sheel and Tapasi Roy are residents of Badharghat.
