Security has been significantly strengthened across Agartala ahead of the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on February 20.
According to a senior Tripura government official, security personnel have been deployed in large numbers at strategic locations throughout the city to ensure strict vigilance and maintain law and order.
The Union Home Minister is scheduled to attend the Joint Regional Official Language Conference for the Northern and Eastern Regions on February 20 and will stay overnight in the capital.
Officials stated that preparatory meetings have already been conducted to ensure comprehensive security arrangements, proper coordination among departments, and the smooth execution of the high-profile visit.
During his visit, Shah is also expected to hold meetings with Chief Minister Manik Saha, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and alliance partners including the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura and the Tipra Motha Party.
