High-level meeting for ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ programme held at Secretariat

A high-level meeting was held yesterday regarding the preparation for ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign under the chairmanship of CM Prof (Dr) Manik Saha Chief Secretary J.K Sinha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest KS Shetty, Principal Secretaries of different departments, Secretaries and other high-ranking officers were present in this meeting held in the conference hall of the Secretariat. Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Minister said that various programmes have been successfully implemented in the state from time to time as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Tripura ranks first in the country in implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme.

He expressed hope that “Meri Mati Mera Desh programme will also be successfully implemented in the state with the collective efforts of all. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards the development of the country as well as taking the country forward with patriotic views.

The Chief Minister hoped that the concerned parties would take a strong role in keeping the reputation of the state intact throughout the country through the successful implementation of ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh programme in the state.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary said, ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign programme will be held in the state from August 9 to August 15. He emphasized on the concerned departments to prepare in advance for the successful implementation of this programme. He also emphasized on the wide publicity of this campaign.

In the meeting, there was a virtual meeting with District Magistrates of 8 districts and officials of the police headquarter. In the meeting, the Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs Dr. PK Chakraborty highlighted the outline of “Meri Mati Mera Desh’ programme and said that ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh programme has been taken as part of the concluding programme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In this programme soil will be collected from different panchayats of the country and brought to Delhi’s Kartavya Path to pay tribute to the heroes. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Memorial and Amrit Vatika will be constructed there. He informed that the main subject of this campaign is ‘Mati (soily The Timanga’ campaign was taken up on August 15 last year. On August 15 this year, importance has been given to ‘Mati (soil).

In the meeting, the Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department also informed that in the Panchayat level “Meri Mati Mera Desh” programme in memory of the heroes of the country, memorial plaques should be placed especially near Amrit Sarovar lake, Panchprana pledge should be taken in the panchayats with clay lamps and selfies should be uploaded on the specific website for this campaign, 75 saplings of local trees should be planted in every gram panchayat in India Security personnel, police personnel. Central Armed Forces, families of the forces, freedom fighters and heroes will be honoured by hoisting national flag and singing national anthem.

The Secretary informed that in this programme, soil will be collected from village and brought to panchayat and then to the block. One youth from each block will carry an earthen pot and set off for Delhi Kartavya Path. Amrit Vatika will be made with soil brought by 7 thousand 500 youths from each block on Kartavya Path in Delhi. The final programme will be organized there. In the meeting, the Secretary informed, similarly, “Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign programme will be held in the urban areas of the state.
