Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Tripura on February 6 and 12 to address several rallies.
The North-eastern state with 60 assembly constituencies is scheduled for election on February 16.
Party sources said that Shah will also hold public meetings in Meghalaya and Nagaland as both states will go to polls on February 27.
However, the schedule of Shah’s political visit for these states not yet finalised. Notably, the counting of votes for all three North-eastern states is on March 2.
The visit of Shah will likely to boost the election campaign of the ruling BJP in Tripura, where the Left and the Congress are trying to recapture their lost influence.
Although these poll-bound northeastern states are small in terms of their electoral size, they hold larger significance in politics.
Thus, BJP is pulling significant efforts to retain power in Tripura and expand its footprints in the two other states.
