The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana for today.
According to IMD, similar weather conditions are also likely to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Madhya Maharashtra during the next two to three days.
The Weather Department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana till 22nd of this month.
The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the Andaman Sea today and into the east-central and adjoining north-eastern Bay of Bengal till tomorrow.
