Based on reliable source information regarding the transportation of suspected narcotic substances, one white-coloured Maruti Alto 800 vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-11-P-7357 was intercepted at Nagapatty, Station Road.
One person, namely Ranjit Debbarma, S/O Late Santi Debbarma, R/O Karamcharra, P.S. Manughat, District Dhalai, who was found driving the said vehicle, was apprehended.
During the search of the vehicle, 04 (four) bags containing 45 (forty-five) packets, wrapped with brown-coloured adhesive tape and containing suspected marijuana (ganja) of different weights, were recovered. The total weight of the suspected ganja was found to be 61.937 kg.
The suspected contraband and the vehicle have been seized by observing the prescribed procedure under the NDPS Act, and further necessary legal action is being taken as per law. Regards.
