Initiatives should be taken to highlight tourism places on international tourism map: Tourism Minister

The tourist places of the state should be highlighted on the international tourism map. The G- 20 Science Summit will be held in our state on April 1-4. Representatives from different countries of the world will come to the state to participate in this summit. Foreign delegates will be shown one of the centres of tourism in the state. That is why tourist centres are being made attractive. Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited and Tourism Department should pay special attention to this work.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this in a review meeting at the conference hall of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited in Swetmahal yesterday. In the review meeting, the tourism minister said that this is the biggest opportunity to highlight the potential of the state’s tourism industry to the world.

In the review meeting, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted various issues in the development of tourism industry in the state. In the meeting, he laid emphasis on launching package tours on the tourist spots of the state, developing tea tourism, constructing bout houses in Dumboor reservoir and advertising the tourist centres of the state on social media, TV channels and newspapers.

He directed the Corporation authorities to appoint brand ambassadors for tourism in the state. In the meeting, Tourism Minister directed the Corporation authorities to construct a cultural stage and food court at Ujjayanta Palace. He asked to see if this cultural stage could be considered for holding cultural Programmes on Saturdays and Sundays every week.

He said, by doing this, the attraction of tourists about Ujjayanta Palace will increase. He directed the Corporation authorities to introduce a system of sale of traditional dresses of the state by opening a permanent sales centre in front of Ujjayanta Palace

Secretary of Tourism Department Uttam Kumar Chakma, Director of Tourism Department Tapan Kumar Das, Joint Director Jayanta Debbarma and other officials of the Corporation were present in the review meeting.
