Teliamura, July 20: The 5th Teliamura Divisional Conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) was held on Sunday at Chitrangada Kala Kendra in Teliamura, with participation from hundreds of delegates and party leaders.

The conference was inaugurated by Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury. Among those present were MLA Nirmal Biswas, DYFI Tripura State Committee President Palash Bhowmik, State Secretary Nabarun Dev, Central Committee Member Mallika Shil, and several other leaders of the organisation.

A total of 315 delegates took part in the conference.

Addressing the gathering, Jitendra Chowdhury alleged that the incidence of drug abuse and the unemployment rate in Tripura have increased alarmingly during the tenure of the present government. He stressed the need to strengthen mass movements and organise more programmes to safeguard the interests of the youth.

The conference also focused on organisational issues and discussed future strategies to intensify youth-centric movements across the state.
