KAILASHAHAR — In a major political development, Kailashahar Municipal Council Vice Chairman Nitish Dey has officially resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and announced his immediate retirement from active politics.
Dey made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday, revealing that the decision came after long deliberation. Reflecting on his tenure, he described the last five years as a particularly difficult period in both his personal and political life, stating that he was not afforded an environment to work with dignity and self-respect.
Highlighting his contributions, Dey noted that he dedicated years of tireless labor, time, and effort to help establish the BJP in power. However, he stated that a culmination of long-standing experiences and recent circumstances ultimately forced him to reconsider his path.
“From today onwards, I will have no more relations with the BJP,” Dey declared, adding that he has chosen not to join or work with any other political party in the future, opting instead to exit public political life entirely.
