A mega online registration and awareness camp for workers involved in house and other construction works was held at Kumarghat Mansi Auditorium on Friday July 8.
The camp was inaugurated by Labour Minister Bhagwan Chandra Das.
Biswajit Das, Chairperson of Kumarghat Municipal Council presided over the function.
In his inaugural address, Labour Minister Bhagwan Chandra Das said the government has taken initiative to bring all construction workers under the Construction Workers Welfare Project.
He said the government has decided to double or more the benefits for workers in all the projects under the Labour Department.
He added that such mega online registrations have been set up in every assembly constituency in the state so that construction workers can avail various government facilities.
The Labour Minister said Tripura ranks first in the northeast in issuing e-labour cards.
Construction workers of Kumarghat subdivision were enrolled online at the Common Service Center in the camp.
Besides, the names of the workers were also registered in the camp for the Prime Minister’s Labour Mandhan and e-Labour Card.
