Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha took the oath as a legislator of the assembly on Friday at the assembly lobby.

A simple function was organised for the oath taking ceremony.

Speaker Ratan Chakraborty administered the oath of CM.

All the cabinet ministers and leaders of the state BJP were present at the function.

However, the MLAs and leaders of the opposition parties along with Chief Secretary Kumar Alok and many top officials were absent in the ceremony.

The officials that attended the program stated the Chief Secretary had a pre-scheduled meeting in Unokoti district.

Therefore, he could not manage the time for the oath taking ceremony.
