The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir from Monday to Wednesday to determine the timing of polls in the Union Territory.

Following this assessment, the dates for the Lok Sabha elections are expected to be announced shortly thereafter, potentially on Thursday or Friday.

The Commission’s visit follows a directive from the Supreme Court to hold Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by September.
