Manik Sarkar demands strict legal action against mob lynching case of 26 year old youth

The leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Wednesday demanded strict legal action against the culprits engaged behind the mob lynching case.

In his statement he said, “Liton Miah, a youth from Tarapukur village under Sonamura subdivision, was called from his house at midnight on March 26 and was brutally physical tortured”.

He added, “As a result, Liton Mia died on March 29 while being taken to GB Hospital for treatment. The father of the deceased is Mr. Jamal Miah. The people of the area have erupted in protest over the killing”.

He also added, “I strongly condemn this murder. I demand that legal action be taken against those involved in the killings. I demand the government to stand by the family of the deceased with a helping hand. In the Jatrapur police station area, it has been seen that people have been killed in such group attacks before also. As a result, the law and order situation in the area is deteriorating and the security of life and property of the people is being disrupted”.
