Agartala, April 29: Minister of State on Tuesday visited the families of individuals who lost their lives in separate road accidents during an election campaign procession, expressing condolences and assuring support from the government.

According to reports, a woman identified as Sumita Debbarma was killed in a tragic road accident on April 9 while returning from booth-level campaigning . A few days earlier, another individual, Upendra Debbarma, had also lost his life in a similar incident.

During his visit, the Minister met the bereaved family members and extended his sympathies. He assured them that the government is seriously considering providing financial assistance and offering a government job to one member from each affected family.

The assurance comes amid growing concerns over safety during election-related activities in the state.
