More 40 Anganwadi centres to set up for Brus in Tripura

So far 8,324 pregnant women in the state have received financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Matrupushti Upahar Scheme. In this scheme, every pregnant woman is given financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 in their bank account.

The Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Tapas Roy gave this news in a press conference at the Secretariat on Saturday.

Highlighting the success of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education in the press conference, the secretary said that 3 lakh 17 thousand 354 children, 19,950 pregnant women and 16,203 nursing mothers have been registered in 9,911 Anganwadi centers of the state.

He added, “They are being provided with various nutritious foods including khichuri and eggs. 10,735 smartphones have been given to Anganwadi Committees and ICDS supervisors for identification of severely malnourished children.

Growth monitoring devices have also been provided to 9,911 Anganwadi centres”.
The SWSE Secretary added that LPG gas has been connected to every anganwadi center in the state under the Poshan Abhiyan project and drinking water has been provided in 117 anganwadi centers and toilets have been provided in 3392 anganwadi centers.

He said that the government has decided to set up 234 more Anganwadi centers in the state among which 40 Anganwadi Centers will be established in Bru Rehabilitation Areas.
