Nearly 50% of displaced Mizoram tribal voters enrolled in Tripura

State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran gitte yesterday metwith representatives of recognized political parties in the all-party meeting held at the conference hall of the Secretariat.

The delegation included representatives of IPFT, BJP, INC, CPI, CPI(M), AITC, TSP and Amra Bangali political parties Mainly the special summary revision of the electoral roll of the state was discussed with the representatives of the political parties. During the meeting, the representatives of the political parties expressed their views on the related issues. Speaking to reporters at the end of the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer said that the special summary revision of the voter list will begin from November 9, 2022 on the basis of January 1, 2020 in view of the upcoming assembly elections.

He said that in the coming days, the Election Commission has taken initiative to bring 100 percent of the voter list under Photo Epic and so link with Aadhaar. He said that those whose names are not yet in the voter list will get online and offline opportunities to register their names. He said that the names of those who are not 18 years old but will turn 18 years on January 1, 2023 can also register their names in the voter list.

And those who have not turned 18 years but have crossed 17 years will have the opportunity to apply in advance for their names in the voter list. A special camp will be organized by the Election Commission Additional Chief Electoral Officer Usha Jain Mog and Deputy Electoral Officer Suman Banik were also present in the meeting.
